Classroom Courses

NASF will be offering three classroom courses at SUR/FIN 2026: 
  • Airline & Aerospace Finishing (CAF)  
  • Electroplating & Surface Finishing (CEF)  
  • Aluminum Finishing  

Course Schedule

  • Each course will have two sessions
  • Monday, June 1 – Thursday, June 2
  • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CT

What to Expect

After registration, learners will receive access to the eLearning course. Participants are expected to review all eLearning materials prior to the start of the live classroom course. You will receive an email when you can access the full course. 

The live classroom sessions will not cover all the content. Instruction will focus on the most critical topics and allow time for interactive discussion and Q&A. 

Instructors will also host office hours for live Q&A on June 3rd–4th at the NASF booth on the show floor. Attendees are encouraged to stop by for one-on-one time with an instructor. The cost of the course includes access to the show floor during SUR/FIN. More information, like classroom location, will be sent via email closer to the live event date.

How to Register

To register for a SURFIN Classroom Course click here. 

SURFIN Classroom Course participants receive full access to the eLearning materials at no additional cost. All courses include:

  • eLearning course modules
  • Instructor video lectures
  • Digital textbook
  • Built in assessments
  • Glossary of Industry Terms
  • Formula Worksheet

Please Note: Participants are expected to complete the eLearning before the live classroom course begins. 

Once registration is complete and payment is processed, all materials will be available on your learner dashboard.

SURFIN Exams

Take a NASF Exam at SUR/FIN 2026 — Proctor Provided!

Join us on Friday, June 5, from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM CT to take any NASF exam during SUR/FIN 2026.

What to know:

  • All exams are administered online
  • Please bring your own laptop
  • A limited number of extension cords will be available, but we recommend arriving with a fully charged laptop
  • A glossary of terms and formula worksheet will be provided and may be used during the exam

TAC Conference

Abstract Submissions

The NASF Technology Advisory Committee (TAC) is currently reviewing abstracts from speakers with Surface Finishing experiences or a focus on New Technology to give exclusive, informative, non-commercial presentations for the SUR/FIN technical program. Each 30-minute presentation will cover the latest surface engineering and finishing technology topics that are seen impacting business today or trending for tomorrow.

Applicants will receive their acceptances on January 17, 2026

Important Dates

Please see the below important dates for TAC Conference Speakers:

  • 1/17/26: Abstract Submissions closed
  • 1/19/26-2/17/26: Abstract Reviews
  • Week of 3/2/26: Acceptance letters go out via email
  • Week of 3/16/26: TAC Schedule finalized and posted to website
  • 511/26: All content due to Speaker Portal
  • 5/30/26: All content loaded to Conference App


Speaker FAQs

  • Conference Registration 
    •  All TAC speakers are required to register for the full conference. A discounted speaker registration rate will be available in the coming weeks. When registration opens, you will be able to select the speaker rate during the registration process.
  • Presentation Submission Deadline 
    •  All presentation materials must be submitted and uploaded to the speaker portal by May 30, 2026.
  • Presentation Format
    • If your presentation includes video content, please use PowerPoint rather than a PDF. PowerPoint allows videos to play more reliably during presentations.
  • Post-Deadline Changes 
    •  Content changes will not be accepted after May 30, 2026. If changes are absolutely necessary after this deadline, presenters will need to bring their updated slides on a USB drive.
  • Conference App Access 
    •  All presentation materials will be shared in the conference mobile application, allowing attendees to access them during and after the conference.
  • TAC Session Awards 
    •  Awards for TAC sessions will be presented on June 4, 2026. Speakers are encouraged to plan their schedules accordingly and attend the awards presentation.

How to Register as a TAC Speaker

  • Go to https://nasf.org/join/attend/‎
  • Select “Register” under any of the categories.
    • Most TAC speakers will select NASF Member Full Conference or NASF Non-‎Member Full Conference. This type will give you access to both days of TAC ‎sessions along with floor access
    • NASF Member/Non-Member One Day passes can be purchased if you wish ‎to only attend the day you are speaking
    • NASF Member/Non-Member Exhibit Hall passes will NOT give you access ‎to the TAC sessions. Please do NOT purchase this as a speaker ‎

Moderator Responsibilities

Pre-Session Duties

  • Confirm that all presenters are present prior to their scheduled speaking times.
  • Verify that no last-minute changes to presentations are required.
  • Ensure all necessary materials and logistics are in place before the session begins.

Opening the Session

  • Welcome attendees to the session.
  • Announce the session number and theme.
  • Request that all attendees silence their mobile devices.
  • Remind attendees to complete the speaker evaluation surveys.
  • Introduce the speaker(s) and clearly state the presentation title.

During the Presentation

  • At the midpoint of the presentation, conduct an attendee headcount.
  • At the midpoint of the presentation, complete the required speaker and content evaluations.

Closing the Session

  • Facilitate the question-and-answer portion by inviting attendees to ask questions.
  • Thank the speaker(s) for their presentation.
  • Provide a final reminder for attendees to complete the evaluation surveys.
